Streaming services don't take songs straight from musicians or from apps. Independent artists release through a distributor: a service that sends your song to all of them at once and passes on what it earns. Blackcap makes the file they need; you choose the distributor.
- Finish the song and listen all the way through, on headphones and on a speaker.
- Finish & Share (on the Song page, or in More) → Full-Quality WAV, with Release-Ready Loudness on. It brings the song to about −14 LUFS, where streaming services play songs, and tells you what it did.
- Tap Share or Save and save the WAV to Files.
- Make cover art: a square picture, at least 3000 × 3000 pixels, with no web addresses or logos of the stores on it.
- Choose a distributor (search for “music distributor” to compare a few). They differ in price (a yearly fee, a fee per release, or a share of what the song earns) and in what they keep, so compare them first.
- Sign up, upload the WAV and the cover art, and fill in the song's title, your artist name, who wrote it, and a release date. Most ask for a date two or more weeks away, so there's time to get it onto every service.
- Once it's out, claim your artist profile on each streaming service, to add a photo and see who's listening.
