Record an Idea opens Blackcap straight into recording from the microphone, like a voice memo: hum it, sing it or play it. When you tap Stop it's saved in Song Ideas, ready to become a song.

  1. Say “Hey Siri, record an idea in Blackcap”.
  2. Or press and hold Blackcap's icon on the Home Screen and choose Record an Idea.
  3. Or, on an iPhone with an Action button: Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → Blackcap → Record an Idea. Now one press starts recording.
  4. Or add it to Control Center (or the Lock Screen): open Control Center, tap +, then Add a Control, and search for Blackcap.
  5. Inside the app it's in More → Record an Idea.
