Every song has a Scratch Pad. A take that isn't right for the song yet, a melody you might use later, a line you just don't want to lose: set it aside, and it's kept with the song, out of the way.

  1. After you record, tap Set it aside instead of Keep it. Name it (or keep its name, Take 3). The song goes back to how it was.
  2. On any recording's or melody's card on the song map, tap Set aside: Take It Out and Set It Aside, or Save a Copy Aside.
  3. Open the Scratch Pad from the home (Scratch Pad · 3 set aside) or the ⋯ menu → This Song's Scratch Pad. Play a recording, rename it, put it in a part, or move it to Song Ideas to grow on its own.
  4. Takes have names too: on a recording's card, hold a take in Takes and choose Rename.
